The maiden ER&D conference in Chennai was jointly hosted by TCS and NASSCOM on the theme “Accelerating Growth through Collaborative Innovation” on August 7.
The city is fast becoming a strong hub for manufacturing with a focus on automotive, high tech and heavy industries.
In his welcome speech at the event, Regu Ayyaswamy, Vice President and Global Head, Engineering & Industrial Services, TCS, said “Today, emerging countries have a unique set of needs to cater to the local market, which needs to be customized and localized in countries like India. In many industries like heavy engineering, medical, healthcare, etc., there is demand for engineering and designing with focus on macro economics. Today, the challenge faced by our customers is to bring in modernization with customization.”
